I have some questions about hard drives for my PS2. I have looked at the compatability list but it hasn't helped much. My question is that I have an old Tivo with a 40 gig hard drive sitting in my closet. Will this hard drive work with my PS2? It is a Maxtor Quickview 40gb, 5400rpm ata 133.

If it is not on that list then the only way to tell is to try it. Most IDE type hard drives will work, but not all.
