Hello,
which rippers and encoders can I use that are compatible with xp? was interested in encoding to vcd.

Try those listed in our guide, they're _supposed_ to be XP compatible (you need to get ASPI for DVD ripping anyway):

It is an alternative method how your operating system reads CD and DVD drives. Install this tool:

ForceASPI17.rar " class=korostus target="_blank">http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Files/ForceASPI17.rar

..and you'll get ASPI drivers for your XP.

Do I have to install this or Does xp already have this installed? If so once installed does it effect other programs already installed, (I have easy cd creator 5b platinum),or change the way the cd-rw copys for all programs?

It doesn't come with any NT platform (=NT4, W2k, XP) and has to be installed in order to use DVD rippers. And it doesn't effect to any of your existing programs.
