I was just wondering if its possible to see if i have this dvd drive or not without opening my 360? If so how? But if it doesnt work without opening it how do i find out if i have v79 or not and where do i see which drive i have?

you can look at the tray to tell if its a sammy or hitachi but you have to open it up to see what verdion firmware is on it example v79,ms28, so on and so on

On the sticker on the drive it will say "ROM version xxxxx" or something similar
