Outrageous prices in mexico

I'm sorry if anyone sees this as a fan boy flame starting its just that i'm really upset about this, and i think that anyone who verifies what i'm talking about will understand what i'm talking about, i got this email from sony style store mexico, telling me that the official presale for mexico was going on from the 1st to the 10th of august, what really got me all pumped up, was the price, sony style is selling their ps3 console for 900usd!!!!
this is just outrageous!
i feel like i'm being mugged, i mean, i've seen this kind of prices on illegally imported ps3, but when its sony itself that is selling you their console at that price its just WRONG, how come we have such a big difference, is it because here in mexico a normal person earns 18,000usd a year? maybe in the us you earn like 10,000 a year and thats why here is more expensive? is it maybe that we are way more rich around here? or is it that sony just don't gives a ...
im very sad about this, i was expecting the oficial release, so all the criminals seling this piece of wardware twice its worth would stop, but then i guess its just easier for sony to sell it in the same price, those that make sony a criminal? for me it does, since i know that thats not the price

my girlfriend still thinks i'm a nerd, but at least i have my ps3 now.

So you blame Sony for the issues your own country has and are which to actually blame for the price? It's not like this is the first (or last) consumer item that will be more expensive in Mexico (or other places too). I think you are looking at it wrong from the beginning since the market for the PS3 in Mexico will undoubtedly be smaller than the US or other Major markets (Europe, Japan etc.) and thus Sony is just selling the console at what the proper adjusted cost SHOULD be. Plus you have to take into account the "strength" of your $$$ compared to other countries as well as the trade agreements they have between them. Then you will have a better representation of why it is the way it is.

Im not blaming sony from the issues my country has, if i where i would`d said "thats why we are so soor around here" and i did take in account the strenght of my $$$ thats why i said that i found it ridiculous that in a country where you earn so little money they come and sell you a device almost twice as expensive than in a country where you could easily earn at least twice as much, maybe it would be easier for you to understand it if you look at it this way, i have two jobs altogether, and still all i can have is 1 creditcard with around 3000 usd credit limit, so, that would mean for me to put 1/3 of my credit capacity and a device, but thats not the only thing, since why was i able to buy an xbox 360 at blockbuster for 500usd?? is it maybe that microsoft made secret agreements with the goverment to not have it taxed? like thats gonna happen, im just saying, that i feel like its not fair, i also got a psp for 240usd also more expensive than in the us but not as much as twice the price

seriously the prices on ebay are around 400 500.you'll save around 300.it's not a risk either.look at their feedback rating and shipping costs and you'll own a ps3.

People that never lived out of these countries dont know what is like been reap off always and forever. Is like its my fault the country economy is like that. I work as hard and even more then they do.
I understand you Gradical is not like you are asking for free or are steeling, you are paying with ur own money all you want is to get it in a fair price, its a BS they say they got Extra charges because of Shipping and Taxes, because they are all made in China so to send to Mexico or USA is the same cost, so all this people who are born on the big "3" talk like they are better and we should pay more, they are all greedy, thats how they country keep they economy, stilling(oil, Mineral, food and Brazilians women lol) from from minor country, they get fuck big time... You should really try to get it from ebay is so secure you wont believe, get a Paypal account to make it even more secure and easier your shopping. Good luck Buddy!

Wow you sound bitter and have misinformation everywhere. I am not saying you are 100% wrong or that I am 100% right. But you honestly are putting blame on the USA for the price of a PS3? No matter what you say the "US" is not responsible for that...Sony is.

I think he was blaming you and the way you answered here, thus saying that this way of thinking is leading a country into what would be some sort of economical segregation, and i have to admit, i did felt pretty much like you where defending sony on your first post, which if you ask me has no defense whatsoever to sell a ps3 in 599usd in the USA and 999 usd in mexico(including 10%tax which of course they dont include on the price posted).

Whether someone feels I am "defending" Sony is up to their own views as to the way they interpret what I said, so that is out of my hands. But my point simply was you can't blame the US since part of your comment in your original post was
