Hi, I'm thinking about getting a WiiKey, but I'd like to know some things about it first

I've never soldered anything before, but it seems to be very easy from what I've heard.

So, I have some questions:

Are there any tutorials as to how to solder? And what is needed to solder something?

Also, I'd like to know if the WiiKey could ever be detected, and have my console bricked or something.

Sorry for the newbie questions, but thanks for all your help

Hi, I had almost the same concerns as you when I was thinking about wiikey.

Yes there are tutorials on how to solder the wiikey, and you need a soldering gun and solder (I suggest the thinnest you can find)

I don't think it can be bricked, I have heard that the disks will stop loading (Or something like that), if you REALLY mess up the installation.

The wiikey doesn't have a disable feature, so it always on when you inserted disc even original. I don't know why you want to get a wiikey? the wiikey to me is the worst chip to get, because it currently still have gamecube audio problem, while all other modchip worked fine. Besides, every modchips can do the same and even have disable feature and no gamecube problem, it can all be update too unless you get a very old model.

Well, the only other one I see that seems solid is CycloWiz v2

Is it any easier for novices to install, than WiiKey is? If so, I'm sold 100%

The cyclowiz is better than the wiikey, at least it have a disable feature and gamecube audiofix, except for bloody roar primal fury, it freezed after the character selected screen, and if you don't mind a switch sticking out of the wii. But if you want the wii to looked like it haven't been touched and no problem with Bloody Roar then goes with the wiinja deluxe, it can do everything, it even have dvd updated feature. It like the cyclowiz but without the switch. But whatever you choose it still better than the wiikey at least that my opinion. The wiikey possibly won't have a bright future because of the lack of disable feature, it mostly likely be the one to get banned first if nintendo really serious. For installing, well try to looked for picture of how the installed goes, maybe that will give you a idea.
