Morning,

I have been looking into getting a cable box with recording capabilities and thought I had decided to go with the Dreambox 600, but then remembered my plan to install a NAS server on my home network. I have noticed three other devices (Dreambox 500, TGM 220, Starview PVR) all have recording capabilities. Would I be able to record TV from one of these 4 boxes direct onto a NAS drive or is additional software require on the PC side to allow recording?

If recording to a NAS drive are feature such as pause/rewind ?live? TV or is this feature restricted to those with built in HDDs (if so am guessing its network speed dependent)?

What file format do the boxes record in?
