Alright, I'm clueless right now.

Question one

My PS2 is V7, fat of course

I ordered Swap Magic 3.6, installed it, only to find my SM boot DVD doesn't work.

I can play Final Fantasy 10 fine, and that's a DVD game. Is it just my PS2?

Question two

Since the DVD isn't working, I'm using the SM boot CD to ORIGINAL PS2 GAME WITH HIGH TOC method.

I've burned three games so far, all of them being NTSC.

Guilty Gear X2 Reload : The Midnight Carnival
Tales of the Abyss
Disgaea

None of them work. After I boot using the method stated above, it takes me back to the browser for a split second then proceeds to a red screen telling me it's not an original PS/PS2 disc. As for GG X2 : Midnight Carnival, it told me it wasn't a valid PS2 disc on the SM3 boot screen.

I'm burning with DVDecrypt.

What I'm getting at is I'm wondering if this is a problem with my PS2 or my media/burner?

The media I'm using is Memorex 16x DVD-R, burned at 1x, 8x, and 12x.

First off memorex sucks so get rid of those and get yourself some Sony, Verbatim, or Taiyo Yuden. What method are you using to perform your swap?

Since I got a bad DVD swap disk, I'm doing the swap method where you use the CD boot disk, switch to an original PS2 DVD game with a high TOS, then reinsert your burned game, but it hasn't worked.

I mean are you using a flip top or a slide card to swap out the disk?

Well my advice would be to switch media because memorex do really suck. I don't have any of the three games you mentioned so I don't know if you would need to rebuilt them to work. What size are the games? If they are over 4.35 chances are they will need to be rebuilt. But definitely try a better media first.

GG X2 Reload : Midnight Carnival is 799mb.
Tales of the Abyss is 3.76gigs and Disgaea is 1.15gigs

From the size I don't think you would need to rebuilt them so all I could suggest is you try a better brand of media.
