I just bought a PSP and am fairly new to the homebrew community. Please excuse my lack of knowledge. My psp has firmware v2.71 and is a ta-082. I want to install the 2.71 hen-d software in order to play isos. I have a couple questions though. After installing this software is it possible to play games that have higher fw requirements such as transformers which requires 3.4. Can the hen-d be removed completely if ever i feel like updating to 3.5 and can i still play umd games? Thx for ur help.

all you do is downgrade to 1.50 and to play the latest games update to 3.52M33 the latest version much better than 2.71HEN-D

I'd really prefer not to downgrade as i'm afraid of bricking my psp. I read that the hen-d method has a zero risk percent.

You cant brick your PSP unless somthing very unlucky happens like the battery falling out during flashing. TBH i think that downgrading has the same risk of bricking as updating you PSP to official FW.

yes you can remove HEN-D and no you cant play games that require higher FW. you will need 3.40 OE or Higher

Also if i wanted to downgrade my psp (2.71 ta-082) what would be the best method. It would be helpful if u could provide me with a link that has instructions. again thx.

but make sure you use the downgraer titled: -2.71 PSP (TA-82 or TA-86)

i had a psp 2.71 and i downgraded it easily, there is a guide somewhere on this forum just search for it, just make sure after you upgrade to 3.40 OE-A that you don't mess around with the flash0 files like i did. -.-
