PS2 Disc Motor Manual Stop

Hello,
My question is this:
Is there anyway to put a switch onto the motor that spins the disc so that you can start it and stop in with the flick of that switch?
Reasoning: I've heard of ways that if you use the card trick while PS2 game is just booting and put it in a backup it will load...but everyone says they are too scared to pull out while it is still spinning. So if you could stop it on command with the switch you could just pull out while the game was initially loading and put in a backup. It was just an idea i had.
Does this make sense at all?
