You will need Dark Alex's 3.03 OE-A or 3.40 OE-A i would choose 3.03OE-A because its got more application and stuff, put your downloaded iso games in the ISO folder in the memory stick.
yeah, i have aproblem too, i wanna download an iso to my psp, but i dont want my psp to brick, and, ive got a mac, does that prevent me from using iso's?

Yes, but you wouldn't be able to play games that requires higher firmware(unless you use DevHook). My advice is that you upgrade to custom firmwares such as 3.40 OE-A or the newest 3.52 M33; trust me, things will be a lot easier if you use these custom firmwares. ;)
