hey guys am new at this so some one help please i have a 3.02 oe-a firmware and i tried working an iso on it and it sayed error so do i need a umd to be inserted in or can i just use it without a umd :P plz help am noob

Of course you need a UMD inserted for it to work. However, if you upgrade to 3.40OE-A, you don't need a UMD. After you upgrade, go into Recovery Mode\Configuration\No-UMD [Enabled]. Default is disabled. I wouldn't do this unless you're forced as you can and will see a huge difference in speed. Your games will load extremely faster than if you have to depend on the isocache.bin it loads. I don't think 3.02OE-A has the ability to load games without UMD's. Oh, and don't forget to download PSP ISO Compressor 1.4 and compress every ".iso" file you have into ".cso". Less size per game = more games on one memory stick!

of course there are many games that don't work with no-UMD in OE, but 99% of them work with no-UMD in M33 since they patched the np9660 sony driver...
