I had an PSP which it was on 2.81 FW, i upgraded it to 3.50, the copied the files to the memstick, and ran the lumines UMD, and reached till the 3.50 HEN, then when i run the update x.yz, first it says that its patching files and so it will be ready, then when it reaches the screen where it asks you that you should press x to continue and agree on the responsiblities or R trigger to cancel, it wont last 1 second, it just like flashes and go back to the xmb, with 3.50 version, i tried 3 times and didnt work.. any ideas..
note: that this issue doesnt matter much since i dont have this psp anymore, but wonder what to do if i faced the same situation again, and i tried all the files i have and downgraded and upgraded to 3.40 OE-A 10+ times...
since u know that screen where they asks u to press x to continue just flashes off quickly, just simply keep repeatedly press x when u are about to reach the screen (read about it somewhere in this forums)
this successfully flashes u to the CFW but the side effects are still unknown.
maybe the screen flashes off quickly because it wants u to stop the upgrade due to system error.
Im just worried that if i started to press X repeatedly, and when it starts flashing the psp, it would again try and flash back to the xmb but instead of going back, it most likely will brick the psp..
Another thing i noticed with this PSP, is that when you run an UMD, and you press HOME to quit, to freezes, and you have to force shutdown of PSP, maybe the issue is related as far as i think
I think then thats a hardware problem with your psp. IF you still had it I woulda said send it back to sony or where ever you got it from. But dont mention the custom firmware part:)
