Wii Motherboard fried?

I installed a wiikey onto the DVD drive and everything went fine. (pre cut pins). I put it back together and power it on and I am not getting any video. The drive starts to power on then stops. I took out the drive and tried it on a known good platform (brand new wii motherboard) and the drive and wiikey works perfectly.

Any idea on how to fix a broken motherboard? Any fuses or resets I can try. I am getting a video signal but it just shows black.
Very weird and never happened before.
