downgrade a psp from firmware 3.40oea to 1.5

i need help as i updated my psp and want to downgrade back to 1.5 as i can then use devhook wich i can play all my isos with as some dont work with 3.40 oea. please can you help me
and can you help me do it without luminies

Hi, what you need to do is google for the
3.40oea recovery pack.
Then when you get it, you need to extract the file, and place the folder named RECOVERY (in CAPS). Then download the 1.5 eboot (google) and rename it UPDATE.PBP and place it in the folder, then put the folder in PSP>GAME.
Then reboot the psp holding down the R trigger and recovery menu will load.
Then click Run program at psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp
And voila. You need at least 75% battery and when flashing has done. You Will have psp 1.5

my psp does have recovery mode and i have done the recovery thing but the screen just goes black after a while

Does it go black and freeze?
Because when i was downgrading from 3.40oea, My psp screen did go black, But that was just because my backlight turned off

after i press the recovery mode thing it just goes black then when you hear th umd stop running the psp turns off

Well just to say this/straighten things out. You do not need Lumines to downgrade from a custom firmware. Anyways if playing your iso's is your top priority consider going up to custom firmware 3.40 LE or a M33 firmware. Both make use of Sonys ISO loader and therefore let every ISO be played. No need for DevHook, heck when was the last time DevHook was updated? Whats the latest firmware it supports?

I would highly recommend Team Wildc*rds LE firmware. Uses the Sony ISO loader so all iso's will play and with a custom firmware you can save your PSP if it bricks.

Boot your PSP into the standard firmware and then put your PSP in USB mode. Then run the 1.5 Recovery Winstaller which can be found by searching AfterDawn for the word "Winstaller" without the quotes.

I just saw this thread. First of all don't ask the same question in multiple threads as you have just done. FoxRider answered your question in the other thread. Also if you have 3.40 NOT 3.40 OE-A then downgrading to 1.5 is impossible without a copy of Lumines.

You need to downgrade to version 1.5. Only certain firmwares allow you to do this, what firmware do you have? I believe you said 3.40? If so you are going to need a copy of the game Lumines. Read thisa article about the Lumines downgrader...
