Hi Everyone,

I want to start by thanking everyone for their great work on these boards. Basically everything I know about modding I learned by reading here.

My question is this, where is the best place to buy software boot devices now that the government is working hard against modders?

I'm interested in buying either a fliptop or the Magic key II for a slim pstwo. A few weeks ago I bought a Crystal Pro 2.0 from url=www.foundmy.com and tried to install it myself and ended up breaking my old ps2. ( I know it was a dumb idea :( ) I contacted http://www.chicagogamewerks.com/cart.php about installing a modchip into a new pstwo and they said they could do it. Now after the news on August 1st about the government executing warrants against modders, they are no longer answering their phone. I am beginning to think they are either one of the businesses targeted (Illinois was one of the states I saw listed in an article about this issue.) or out of fear of being caught they have shutdown. Also other websites seem to have taken down their ps2 modchips such as http://www.mod-chip.com/index-cart-us.ph...ct_ps2_main.htm .

I found this website http://www.easybuy2000.com/store/playstation%20II/index.html referenced in this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/24151 but it does not seem to offer any software boot devices for slim pstwos.

Also if you have any advice for what device to get ( I hear the magic keys are hard to install but at least it wont break my ps2 like a soldered modchip) that would also be appreciated.

I really need your help with this I don't want to be paying money to websites that are going to be shutdown without sending me my stuff. Or maybe I should wait a while until this current government crack down cools off.

I hope this wasn't too long or scatterbrained but I wanted to explain myself thoroughly.

Thank you for your help!

Hi,if you have a network adapter try this. It`s the best thing more usefull than a chip cause you don`t have to burn the games and the games load`s 3 times faster.
