Should I buy xBox 360 now?

I had a few questions I figured you xBox experts could help me with:

1) In light of the recent problems with XBox 360, do you think it is worth it to buy one now even if the drop in retail prices is likely to push down 360 prices in secondary markets overall?

2) Where the best place is to get a 360, as I don't mind getting a used one? Ebay perhaps?

3) Is it worth it to buy the 360 with the 120 gb hard drive to get a mod chip and install games? What are the dangers of installing a mod chip? Is it worth it?

4) How come they don't make hard drives sizes in moderation - only 20 gb or 120 gb? Or am i wrong on this one?

Well, wait till the price drop (should occur in a month or so, if not alredy). To me, yes, it's worth buying a new one, seeing as you never know if used ones are banned from xbox live or not.

Do not buy an Elite if you're planning on modding your system, and never use a mod chip. if you mod your 360, use a frimware mod, they're simple, cheap, and effective. To me it was worth modding it, because with games costing 60$, i would hate to have to buy a brand new copy just cuz something happened to the first one i bought.

as far as why they only make 20 gig and 120 gig hard drives, i'm not sure

Where can a frimware mod be purchased? Can I install it myself or is it best to have someone else do it for me, if that is even possible?

Do it yourself, it's very easy. Find out what brand drive you have first though (hitachi, samsung, ben q) if you have a hitachi, you can follow this tutorial. even if you have some other brand, the procedure is very similar.

use xbins to find the firmware you need. use the afterdawn search bar for a tutorial on using xbins
