I just received an email from a friend of mine in NYC, that he somehow got his hands on the new PSP. Some call it PSP Slim, some calle it PSP 2.0, but Sony calls it PSP 2000. He says the Firmware isn't 4.00 like Sony claims it will be, but then again, he also said the device is "beta". When it does come out with 4.00, will we be prepared for downgrading this system. It has double the CPU, RAM, a more stable LCD, plus these cool extras, TV-Output, etc. I don't know about you, but that's like comparing the loading speed of a PS1 game on a PS3. Lag on a PSP, even online will end. Now that Dark_Alex is gone, all we have to save us is a Russian team (no offense) to find a way to HEN it.But what's the point if we can't downgrade to allow for homebrew and ".cso" backup playability?

My friend Mark. He took a picture of it with his cell phone (show off son of a--). He took a picture of the "Tech Specs" in the manual it comes with. Says 433 MHz. But if that's just the default, I'm waiting wondering what overclocked will be. And the LCD he told me they remade it so its lighter and more dependable (with the dead pixels and all).

I heard 333Mhz was going to be made default. Then, by what you said, 433Mhz maybe one of the overclocked speeds anlong with 480 or 533Mhz

That would really cool if Sony releases the CPU default overclocked. I read that most consoles can be overclocked 10-15% with only a 2-3 degree (C) increase. I read that CPU's in gaming consoles being overclocked is now becoming a problem. XBOX 360 and PS3 CPU and GPU can be overclocked manually now, but heat is becoming a huge problem. Anyone know what the speed is capped at?

I'd like one too, but what is the point if we can't run homebrew? No running downloaded copies, no being able to rip UMD's to make those copies, no fun. I'm going to get one, but if a downgrader isn't released within 6 weeks, I'm going to open it up and remove the CPU and LCD. If I can't have a PSP with video-output, beefed up RAM, CPU, etc, then I'll just settle for the high-res LCD and CPU.

My friend Luke got a PSP 2000 too, and he said the picture actually projects itself to the nearest flat surface, he took a picture with his camera...
Wth. Him asking you for a solid source and your saying "My friend Mark." is not an answer.
I wouldn't believe a word until it's officially announced. :)
