start ps2 without buttons?

hi was wondering if there is anyway to start the ps2 without using the power or eject button, as it seems my ribbons gone bust. the red power light comes up find, but nothing happens when i click on or eject. thanks

Remote maybe? I don't have one so I'm not sure. Other than that there is no way that I know of. See eBay for a new ribbion.

Hmm, ps2 interface is very mechanical, you have to replace the ribbon I suspect. Did you open up the ps2? How does the ribbon suddenly go bust?

There is NO way to start the PS2 without that cable/switch... (not even remote has a power button on it)

Do a google search for PS2 parts and you will find a few vendors that deal in used parts, such as your power switch...

If the cable lost the plastic backing, it's nearly impossible to get it back into the mobo plug or switch plug... the only way i found to do it is to use a very fine metal shim or jewler's screwdriver to push it in bit-by-bit...

I don't see how the cable goes bust on it's own.. obviously was opened without any guide or tutorial... Always pop the switch out of the top lid when servicing...

I need help with this as well. but i need to know if if there is some way of starting up the PS2 if you don't have the power button. Yes i did open the PS2 and voided my warranty but please be a good fellow and help out.

I also seem to have lost the little piece that holds the power and eject buttons. So i don't have the actual buttons anymore.
