I have never had a problem with shrink on my old computer, running XP Pro. I just hooked up my old HP Moviewriter (from my old comp) downloaded DVDshrink and all seemed well. I was able to open the movie, and encode it with shrink. I hit the backup button and DVDshrink quits. I downloaded shrink from another site to make sure I have the newest version, but the same think happens. Oh I have plenty of disk space.

this is probably caused by copy protection that shrink can't handle.
so, rip it first to the HDD with DVDFab HD, then proceed with shirnk

I don't think this has to do with a encyption, it does it with two different discs (that's all I have with me to try)from two differnt companies.
