I just bought a PS2 used, original design, and it works fine. It came with a sony Ps2 HDD attached to the back. Now when I use the playstation with no cd in it, I goto browser, and nothing comes up, not the harddrive. I am thinking either the hard drive is empty, or that something is wrong with its drivers, and it did not come with the utility disk. What should I do?

Also, I got an iso of HD advance, and burned it to a dvd. How can i get my ps2 to install the software without a driver? and will it work even if the ps2 hdd utility disk is missing?

The HDD you have might not show up because it's not the official Sony PS2 40GB HDD. And if you burned HDAdvance to a DVD, you got to have a way to load up burned discs...
