I've had it hooked upto the net before but my brother changed our internet settings etc. I'm current;y at my Nan's house. I don't have any money or time to go out and buy new hardware, software or to subscribe to anything etc. Here's my set up of what I can work out (keep in mind I'm only 13 and I don't live to play games etc.):

WIRELESS MODEM ---> internet

MYLAPTOP ||BROTHER'S LAPTOP (what the network was setup on)

PS2

I've got hardly any knowledge of setting these things up and I don't really know all the sites etc. for getting IP adresses, SUBNET masks, DNS adresses and all that other stuff.

The box to the MODEM was thrown away (you can thank my 60 something year old nan for that). There's a label on the bottom of it with some numbers (EG. Gateway MAC MGMT ID) and I have a manual of the bigpond thing with some MODEMS names etc. in it.

I managed to make a network bridge with my laptop and on the PS2 it had the link light green and where the end of the cable in the laptop was the lights were on properly. But it didn't connect (tested and timed out, SWBF2 said couldn't connect check network configuration). I Don't have the network disk but I can change some of the settings using SWBF2. Here's my connection list: Wireless (what I'm using now) LAN, LAN2, 1394 connect 2.

My brother isn't here and he kinda hates me so he wont help me make it work.

Any help on how to make it work would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Just avoid the whole mess and get a wireless router.

Also, get a wireless network adapter for your PS2:

you should connect the crossover cable to the laptop and the ps2 then you should follow this link: [url=http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/118/85/]
it wont work if you don't use a crossover cable
