game cube freeloader no longer works after update

Nintendo has remained quiet about whether it will fix compatibility problems with third-party software Freeloader, after yesterday's Wii firmware update rendered it unusable.

The company reiterated to our sister site Eurogamer.net that because it isn't an official product approved by Nintendo, there was nothing it could do.

The Datel disc was originally manufactured for the GameCube, and allowed users to import titles from Japan or the US and play them on their PAL console.

Until yesterday, the software had the same effect on backwards-compatible GameCube games played on Wii.


thought people should know this and maybe this will force datel to release the wii game compatable version

That is what you can hope but there is no hope for This working on the wii again.
Nintendo Do have 101% right to do this because it is a 3rd party Product and does not have the Nintendo Quality Assurance logo which means it isnt authorised by nintendo so if they feel like there new console which they paid thousands and thousands of dollars to design and complete dosent need this and the firmware stopped it from working by "accident" they absolutely have to do nothign about it.
This shows us how much more power full these 7th gen consoles are with their update mechanism.

I don't think nintendo will fix this, but datel/codejunkies will have some angry customers who have just bought a product which now doesn't work!!

No one can do anything anyway like the angry mob will help.
Why would you want free loader anyway all it does is play out of region games why not just wait a game rarely dosent get released in all regions.

yeah, but release dates can vary in each region, wouldn't mind getting a game a couple of months before everyone else.

Isn't the reason for a lot of people using mod chips for to play imports?
