Okay, I'm emulating firmware 3.11 on a 2.71 firmware PSP. Anyways, at first whenever I tried it said that there's an internal error. I found out that the problem was that I wasn't running on 222/111 mhz. Anyways, so I set the proper clock speed and then when I try to connect it keeps saying, "Connecting to the access point. Please wait" After a while, it says, "A connection error has occurred. The connection to the access point timed out" . Connecting to the internet works fine on my original firmware but not on my emulated firmware. If you know how to fix this, please help me!
try re-installing devhook. i had the same problem with 3.03 emulation...mine didnt even attempt to find the acess point it just said error. also try to make the connection while youre on 1.50. by the way.... u heard of cusotm firmware, it's alot simpler?
Yeah I've heard of custom firmware. I'm still on 2.71. I don't want to take the risk of downgrading though. I mean, this did cost me $360 for the PSP, memory stick and warranty. That's enough for an XBox 360!

There is no true risk of bricking nowadays. Custom Firmware has become very safe and has come a long way. The only true was to risk it, is if your battery is at 76% and you're not plugged in, if you disconnect the plug or battery. As long as the battery is a t 100%, plugged in, with no chance of disconnecting either, you're pretty set. Downgrade to 1.50. Once you see how easy and safe it is, upgrade to 3.40OE-A. There really isn't a huge risk. And if you spent so much on a warranty, God-forbid something happens, return it! It's a win-win situation. You're safeguarded either way.
not that they can find out, but he voids his warranty by putting unapproved or unauthentic sony stuff (YEAH RIGHT WHO TF DOESNT DO THAT)on your psp. so if you do brick (you wont) dunt send it to sony...bring it back to the store.

He's right. I brought mine back to Walmart. The guy just boots it up, see's you're getting nothing but a black screen, (I purposefully bricked mine, I thought I was super smart and modified Dark_Alex's 3.40OE-A to incorporate custom XMB with the install) and he just said, "Yup, it don't work. I get new one off shelf. Uh ... be right ... back".
Well, it doesn't matter. I find out that something is wrong with my router. Oh, and I bought my PSP at Best Buy which actually has some smart employees unlike Wal-Mart who just hire people at random without interviewing them. Oh and I also hate how there are so many versions of custom firmware. First there's a 3.02 OE-A, then a 3.02 OE-A', then OE-B, then OE-C! It would be much easier if they just released one final custom firmware that didn't have a bunch of bugs. Anyways, I'll only have to resort to custom firmware if there are no more Devhook updates and there's a game I want to play that requires a higher version.
