ok here's my problem. Adobe Premiere Pro 2.o will import my .avi video files encoded as DivX, however the audio (which is encoded as .mp3) will not show up on the timeline when I drop it in for editing. I can import .mp3 audio by itself and have it show up on the timeline so why not the .avi?
