well in your package you should have two discs.one a dvd and the other a cd.if u want to know which is which it will say on the lable located on the top of the discs.and last of all a funny looking black card of some sort. these will all be needed for later

first ill start you off with actually backing up your games and some problems you might encounter.here we go

you will need some good quality dvd-r and cd-rs i use verbatim dvd-r and cd-r(do not get verbatim dvd+rs as these arnt good enough quality and do not use dvd-rw or dvd+wr it will not work)
and a burning program the one i find easiest to use is "imgburn" which ill be discussing in this tut(you can download it from here http://www.free-codecs.com/ImgBurn_download.htm)

imgburn is one handy back up tool i mean you can pretty much back up and type of disc thru this program. it works with both cd and dvd based discs.

so once you have downloaded or installed imgburn open it up.
up the top on the tool bar click mode>iso>read then insert your ps2 game into you dvd drive and then click read down the bottom left of the program window.it will take 10 mins two an hour depending on readability of the disc you are backing up and the speed of your disc drive hardware. a few things can happen here it will read right two the end and say successful or it will say read error one reason for this will be the disc is to dirty or scratched. anyway when it says operation sucessful click ok. now put in you blank dvd-r(or cd if its a cd based game)then up top of prgram window click mode>iso>write point out the iso image which by default is under the directory of your main hdd eg C:\isoimage.iso and change the write speed to 4X or lower(if u burn at more than 4X it will take forever to load on the ps2 or simply wont load at all) click write.(note-if you dont have single iso and instead have a isoimage.IO0 and an isoimage.IO1 and isoimage.mds just point out the mds and it will burn the two files together as i single iso to the dvd.)

we are now ready to boot it up using swap magic

first things first you need to remove the disc tray front cover(it has the roatating ps logo on it. the cover will click off if u work at it long enough i just broke mine off it slides on and off easily now to remove just eject the tray and grab the sides of the front cover and wigle and pull it will click off or maybe break if your to forcful now if you backed up a cd game put the cd version of swap magic in and if its a dvd game stick the dvd swap magic in close the tray. it will load up and come up with a screen that says load program and normalif u backed up a game thats in ntsc format you will need to change the noral to ntsc by going to normal and hitting X on the control until normal changes to ntsc. same goes for if its pal change normal to pal. ok now your set. if u look into the disc tray you will see a slot in the middle of the tray grab the black card(slide tool) and slide it into the middle slot it should lock into place then gently slide the card to the right then once it wont slide any more to the right pull towards you the tray should come out a little grab the tray and pull it out take out your swap magic and put the copyied game in slide the tray back in then put the key back in but on the right and slide the thing u slid to the right back to the left and then hit X on the control the screen should go flash a redish colour then go black wait for about ten secs tops and it will load up.

Loading your own programs from USB Mass Storage Devices:1. Rename your program to SWAPMAGIC.ELF 2. Create a folder named SWAPMAGIC in the root directory of your USB Mass Storage Devices and then put the SWAPMAGIC.ELF file in the folder. 3. Plug-in the USB Mass Storage Device to the USB port of the PS2. And then boot your PS2 with SwapMagic3.6. If the program (SWAPMAGIC.ELF) is found in "../SWAPMAGIC/", it will be launched automatically. Store multiple programs in the USB Mass Storage Devices:1. You can put maximum 4 files in the SWAPMAGIC folder at the same time. But, you need to rename those programs to SMBOOT0.ELF, SMBOOT1.ELF, SMBOOT2.ELF and SMBOOT3.ELF respectively. 2. Plug-in the USB Mass Storage Device to the USB port of the PS2, and then boot your PS2 with SwapMagic3.6. 3. When the title screen appears (you will see 2 options Load Program and Video Mode on the screen), you can press: A."UP+L1" buttons to load SMBOOT0.ELF B."UP+L2" buttons to load SMBOOT1.ELF C."UP+R1" buttons to load SMBOOT2.ELF D."UP+R2" buttons to load SMBOOT3.ELF

Refreshing the TOC size:
1. Insert a Swap Magic Disc in your PS2 (use CD or DVD version#)
2. When the title screen appears (you will see 2 options, Load Program and Video Mode on
the screen), press the ?Eject? button on the PS2 to eject the Swap Magic and put a game
disc with larger TOC size to refresh the TOC size.
3. After the TOC refresh is done, you can start to use the flip top cover or slide-tool** to swap
the discs with your import/backup.
