You can just downgrade a 2.71 PSP, and I am pretty sure anything above firmware 3.00 (official or not) supports an 8GB memory card.

If you use emulated 1.5 to upgrade to custom firmware, theres a simple answer: You'll make a nice paperweight with a green light :)

Hardly anyone has one, get a 4GB, but no higher, unless you NEED to carry around 15 games on your memory card at once...
The price isn't really worth it, getting 2 x 4GB is cheaper.

Maybe split it between two 4GB sticks? It should be cheaper that way. But if you want one 8GB, the higher firware's should have no trouble with it.

What do you mean, 8gig flash? That 8gig is built in?
But yes, 3.40 OE-A should do fine with 8GB.

There's a progam called remotejoy (homebrew) that lets your PSP stream through USB to display on your PC monitor, so it's nothing new what the slim is doing.

It kinda is. With that piece of homebrew it sends it over USB, problem is there is no USB hookups on modern dvd players and television sets. The PSP slim has
A/V-Out capabilities. So essentially instead of a USB cable the cable attached to the PSP will have component outputs on the end of the cable.
@deamon2k
That 8Gigs of Flash isn't usable for storage by the user.(I believe I remeber this fact right so if I am wrong someone correct me)

Hmm sounds cool :)
Is it to do with music? If so i guess it could set the volume of each track to the same level automatically if there is fluctuation... (and trust me, that's a total guess, so if it's wrong, don't blame me :P)
