I have this problem with "cyclic redundancy". 'recurring nonsense', I guess... Anyway, I think it may have to do with my 'DVD43' running in the background, or maybe my screensaver switching on, or both. About half of the DVD's I try to 'back up' give me this error. It works just fine when I sit and watch it, but if I leave it for a few minutes, Kabam!!! Error!!!! It takes about the same time that my screensaver should take to switch on,(Hence the screensaver prejudice). When I try to do the analysis again, 'DVD shrink' just starts where it left off (10%~50%~80%, wherever it got the original error) and gives me the same error. I've removed DVD43 from the equation, and turned my screensaver off. This seems to work on any new DVD's I back up, but any DVD that has had this problem in the past just gives me the same error, even on DVD Decrypter.
My question is, Is there a way to erase the original memory cashe, (on dvdshrink), from the previous attempts at backup? I think that if I could start over from scratch, It would work just fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
first off i would get rid of dvd43 and use anydvd or use dvd fab decrypter (free)
try doing a clean reinstall of dvd shrink meaning run CCleaner do a disc clean up defrag reboot and reinstall. you can rip with dvd fab decrypter first then use dvd shrink to transcode then burn to dvd
or try a different program all together like clonedvd 2 + anydvd (great program i highly recommend it) . heres some software and guides to look over
I think that my DVD43's "on the fly" decryption was interfering with the decryption DVDshrink uses. When the screensaver kicked on it caused the error. I've removed DVD43, and everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the advice in removing my cashe, I'll give it a try.
