I just purchased a Wii and plan to mod it in the future (I'm aware some of the new ones are currently hard or impossible to mod with the current chips.) When trying to use some of the features of the Wii, like the shop, it requests that I update.
If I do update to the latest software, would it still be possible for me to mod my Wii in the near future? I was hearing that a boot disc wasn't working with the new firmware.
To some it up: My system is not modded. If I update the firmware, will I be able to mod it still?
Whatever you want I dont know no matter what nintendo will get to you and block your chip we all know it it wont make a difference that is why im not modding it i think the updates will be more worth then modding your Wii Imagine when we start getting like Mp3 channels,DS Demo download channels,Wii Demo's Maybe a Chat Room Channel what the wii can do with its software is countless in terms of software it has the capabilites of the Ps3.
So whatever you want to do
-Mod your wii dont update and get about 100 games with only 20that you will fully like
OR
-Buy those 20 games and get all the extras.
Thanks. It's not so much that I'm afraid to update (it's my understanding current mods work with the new updates, anyways) but just that I may need to boot a disc to finish a mod and the new firmware won't let you. (At least I read a few posts that said they couldnt boot certain discs). Would it be possible, with the new firmware, to successfully mod a system (ignoring the cut off legs, etc..)?
