my standard dvd's are 4.7gb, are there games that are bigger than this? i figured gta san adreas might have been since it had a huge map, but it is only 4.19 and wwe smackdown / raw 2007, since it was originally designed for ps3, but set back on ps2 instead (+ its one of the newer games out made by the large game companies) but that is only 4.12 gb. i know a few games had different problems such as dual layering, but do any games have any larger size disc than 4.7 gig?

Don't quite understand what you are saying but any game that is over 4.7 gigs would be dual layer. God of War, Gran Turismo, Xenosaga, Rogue Galaxy are such games.
