Backup Burns Failing

Every time I try to burn a xbox backup it fails. I have tried using different games from different sources and none of them will successfully burn. I have been using xbox backup creator but have also tried nero with the same results. My dvd burner is the pioneer dvr-111d and im not sure what media it is that I am using(is there a way to find out?). I have successfully burned backups before with this media and burner.

If someone could help me get to the bottom of this problem that would be much appreciated.

If you don't know which media it is, then it's likely crap media. If you are burning 360 games, get Verbatim DVD+R DL discs. You ca find them here
