PS2 v4 Flip top Installation Problems

Okay, when I use the flip top, it cannot load anything and goes to the browser/system information screen. When i set the flip top aside, being careful with the reset/eject strip, and temporarily put the disc cover back on, it works fine. I have tried adjusting the laser height and reset/eject harness, but I don't see what could possibly be in the way.

Has anyone had this problem before, or can suggest something?

did put the white magnet thing on the fliptop?

Yes. I think some plastic thing on the flip top is preventing it from fitting correctly over the disk tray.

if ur using one from what they gave u dont use it. use the original magnet white thingy cuz i had a problem with that b 4
