I just found this site http://www.xbins.org/xblive/ . Supposely this site tells you what are in the new updates such as a remote check, done through xboxlive and shows you how the update query's a few things from the drive.

Does anyone now about this site and can confirm or correct what it really is?

xbins is reliable. and as long as you have the latest firmware you should be fine.
