I wanted to know which lot# on the outside of the xbox 360 elite has flashable drives. I was told only lot #0709 and 0710 but i figure there might be others. I went to walmart in Canada to buy an elite but but they only had lot #0724 and 0725. I don't know what type of drives these have. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

I've been to ebgames and three walmarts and they all have 0724/0725. I find it weird that thoughout the niagara region, there's only two lot#'s 0724 and 0725 around.

As time goes on and more and more 360's are manufactured, the lot number will go up. You'll never find 0709 or 0710's on the shelf now. There was only a handful which were released with the Hitachi 78 drives. And that was right at launch in the U.S. The only way to find one now is to find someone who may have bought an Elite at launch and is now selling it. Maybe try eBay or Craigslist.

I think i'll just wait till the 0079 are flashable. Good old "Time", the remedy for everything.

Don't feel bad drogomir I just got a 360 the other day,and the lot # on it is 0726.I know it has a Hitachi LG drive in it,but are the only drives available for drive hacks are the lot #'s 0709 and 0710.If so just a question would I be better off getting a modchip or just waiting until a drive hack is available.

0079fk drives can be flash, but it's requires de-soldering. This should only be attempted, by experts in the area of soldering. If that's not you, there's a moderator on Xboxscene doing them for $50 a pop. I'd think since he's an XS moderator he should be pretty trustworthy.

Is there a link that shows you how to flash the Hitachi 0079fl drive. I think I can handle the solder job. Thanks.
