If replacing the flash0 didn't work then as you stated foxrider I believe a full restore to 1.5 is in order.

I believe that PSP background pics have to be either 8 or 32 bit. But its been a while since I made a theme so they maybe be able to use 23 bit. I would save it as both a 8 and 32 bit picture and give them both a shot. I would also read through some psp theme forums/sites and see if you can find a better answer for your question.

Good news for you! If you or someone you know has a PSP that is homebrew capable you can rescue your PSP!. It is all due to a new release by a collective group of PSP hackers that go by the name Team C+D. And all you need is a genuine Sony PSP battery and a Sony MagicGate Pro Duo memory card. Heres the direct news post by Dark_AleX himself...
Quote: eah, the "Service Mode".
This has been the work of the alliance of a lot of developers externally known as "C+D": Nem, joek, Fanjita, Chris, jim, psp250, ditlew, Skylark, Dark_AleX (Me), mathieulh, tyranid, adrahil and Booster.
The battery lets to downgrade any firmware version (including those that Sony releases in the future), and to unbrick bricked psp's (whatever bricked by software psp, not only the ones bricked by that retard of Serafin), in all current hardware. Of course, we cannot be sure about future hardware, but the Firmware Update game has finally come to the end for all current psp's.
Spread the word: DIGG THIS
Quote:USAGE
- Insert Memory Stick into the PSP
- Remove power cord and insert the JigKick Battery into the PSP.
- A menu appears when the PSP boots. Follow the onscreen information
and instructions.
NOTES AND RESTRICTIONS
- The firmware in the Memory Stick is not a full 1.50, but a minimal
subset. Therefore, not all applications (such as flashers, or
recovery apps) will load.
- Only Memory Stick Pro Duo are compatible. Memory Stick Duo
(e.g. 32MB sticks) are not supported.
- The IDStorage cannot be totally restored, as there is no known way
to regenerate it properly.
- It is strongly RECOMMENDED to make a flash dump of the PSP before
any downgrading operation.
- There might be a BSOD at the end of the downgrade. This is normal,
and happens on the standard downgraders.
- All hardware revisions known at this day are supported.
- This release contains no Sony-copyrighted material. All required
Sony data is generated from the v1.50 update files.

So find someone with a custom firmware/firmware 1.5 and do this with your PSP battery and a memorystick to save your PSP.
Heres a walkthrough to do the whole process...
IINSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Using the USB connection, connect the PSP with the memory card inserted.
2. Format the memory stick. You can use either Windows Explorer to format the disk, or use the PSP ‘Format Memory Stick’ option
3. Extract the contents of the pandora.zip file to c:\pandora
4. Open a DOS prompt (Start -> Run -> CMD -> )
5. type ‘c:’ type ‘cd c:\pandora\mspformat’
6. type mspformat (in my case W) – ‘mspformat W’
7. Stop the USB connection, and unplug the memory stick (you can leave the cable connected). Seriously REMOVE THE STICK FROM THE PSP
8. Plug the memory stick back in and reconnect to Windows
9. Manually make the directory on the memory stick for PSP\GAME and PSP\GAME150 (GAME150 for custom firmwares like OE)
10. Copy the two directories for each application into either the GAME or GAME150 directory (for me it was GAME150)
11. Download the official 1.50 FW update from http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=4
12. Extract the update and store it on the root of the MS, named UPDATE.PBP
13. Stop the USB connection and go to the application ‘Pandora’s Battery Firm. Installer’ – this only takes a few moments.
14. ONCE COMPLETED DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP – REMOVE THE MS FROM THE PSP AND POWER THE UNIT DOWN RE-INSERT THE MS AND POWER THE SYSTEM BACK ON
15. Once completed, start the USB connection to the Windows PC.
16. Copy the file msipl.bin from the MS to c:\pandora\msinst
17. from a DOS prompt (referenced above) do the following
18. type ‘cd c:\pandora\msinst’
19. type ‘msinst W msipl.bin’
20. ONCE COMPLETED DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP – REMOVE THE MS FROM THE PSP AND POWER THE UNIT DOWN RE-INSERT THE MS AND POWER THE SYSTEM BACK ON
21. Now, browse over to the MS under games, and run the application ‘Pandora’s Battery Creator’ – I recommend backing up the eeprom of the battery just in case (it’s 1K , you’ve got plenty of space). The steps should be pretty obvious at this point, if you decide to backup the eeprom, you’ll have to re-enter the battery program to update the battery firmware.
22. ONCE COMPLETED DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP – REMOVE THE MS FROM THE PSP AND POWER THE UNIT DOWN RE-INSERT THE MS AND ALSO REMOVE AND RE-INSERT THE (NOW MODDED) BATTERY. POWER THE SYSTEM BACK ON
23.
24. Congratulation, you are now in posession of a "Magic Memory Stick"
25. and a "JigKick Battery".
In order for the system to actually work, POWER THE SYSTEM COMPLETELY OFF and unplug the battery and MS, plug them back in, and power on, voila you'll see the restore screen.

Also when you are done rescuign your PSP you can return your battery to normal again so you can use it again for your PSP.

Hmmm...80020321-isnt that the error code you get when you dont have a game inserted in the drive?
@PeaInAPod-I guess theres already a easy installer out as well, brought to you by our very own, touran22,Jared,guano, (aka ibwanzingee), and hexitnow from the forums...The easy installer is found HERE EDIT**I am told that this will work on a functioning PSP running 1.50 or cfw** Not as previously stated....

Thanks for the link. This is even better cause heck I consider myself a advanced windows xp user and I had some troubles initially trying to get this to work. When you say this "The easy installer is found HERE I am told that this will work on any functioning PSP...cfw or not." you mean that the downgrade/unbrick process will work for every PSP right? Because you do have to have a homebrew capable psp to be able to create the jigkick battery and magic memorystick right? OR with the easy installer do you not even need a homebrew capable PSP anymore?

You edited your post already anf you still have a lot of errors? I'm very dissapointed in my english teacher. 'A[n] advance windows xp user. 'Memorystick' is 2 words and 'OR' should be Or. Also,
'Or with the easy installer do you not even' and so on doesnt make sense does it. How do you like it PEA. I didnt think so. I ran into afterdawn addicts making 3 times more mistakes than you did right now and i dont see you remarking them. Good stuff.

Anyway...
@PeaInAPod-I was misinformed about that-which is why I had to go back and edit a few posts I made elsewhere..I figured you needed a psp running 1.50/and or cfw all along from the information in the readme file-and was told otherwise on that thread I linked to..SO naturally I felt obligated to get the word out on this breakthrough...So to clarify: yes, you DO need a psp that is running either 1.50 or cfw to create the battery..Once the battery is created, you can then use it on a bricked psp regardless of firmware...Sorry to confuse friend...

Thanks for clearing that up, I understood how it worked but your post made me doubt myself. So again thanks for clearing that up.
@DEVINRL
F*ck off as$h*le. You want to know why I edited my post? Because after posting the message I thought of a bit more information I should include. So instead of posting twice I hit edit and added in that little bit of info. I typed my "or" in all uppercase to accentuate it.
Quote: 'Or with the easy installer do you not even' and so on doesnt make sense does it.
It made enough sense for dEEz_nUtz to understand what I meant and it would make more sense to you if you actually read the whole sentence...
Quote: OR with the easy installer do you not even need a homebrew capable PSP anymore?
DEVINRL grow up. If your going to post in a thread then post something to advance the topic/conversation of the thread. Don't just drop in to post messages meant to harass me. If you post one more comment in this thread that in anyway demeans me and/or does not relate to the topic of this thread I will report you.

And really I didnt even notice the emphasis on "OR"...In fact, I didnt even really read the post, just skimmed through it and got the information I needed...
@PeaInAPod- Have you made a battery yet? I was going to go out earlier and pick one up, but I got sidetracked...This is pretty groundbreaking stuff here....I think I may start a little business unbricking/downgrading psp's in my area, and donate a portion of the proceeds to the dev's for their hard work...

I did change my battery/memory stick and it all worked, and I too had the same idea about a starting a local PSP Unbricking/Downgrading business.

Earlier today I was searching eBay for bricked psp's hoping to pick one up for cheap and unbrick it. While I was searching I came across a auction for this guy who promised to unbrick/downgrade any psp for US $100. And since he/she promised it worked for any PSP and that they mentioned unbricking and downgrading I say its safe to assume that they are using the Pandora Battery hack.

Wow $100? There is a guy on ebay that a few members here were talking about, they said his rate was $40 or $50..I think the guy himself even registered on the forums here to advertise real quick to stir up some business before he got banned...
