It depends on your personal preference. One is widescreen and one is full screen.

Also, sometimes you have to choose between the theatrical release and directors cut on a disc.
In that situation, what DakotaFan said is still true. All about personal preferences.
You should preview before you backup if there are multiple "main titles"
I have a Led Zeppelin concert video which an extra on the disc is longer than the main title and I wasted time and a blank disc burning the wrong bit.
