DaX, ruka (nesterj), exophase, and strmnnrmn are all individual workers, so they deserve most credit. Have any of you people (besides CK :P) tried hex editing? It's really confusing...my hat is off to all these people.
I'd have to say Dark_AleX because he pretty much made custom firmware kick off. Well, custom firmware that's worth having I mean. M33 are pretty good too, but they didn't create their firmwares from scratch. Dark_AleX used Sony's stuff, but M33 used his stuff.
You're forgetting the most important PSP coders ever, the Spain based PSP-Dev team; without them, PSP homebrew wouldn't be possible (at least for those of us outside of Japan). The came up with both swaploit and kxploit, the programs that make homebrew playable on 1.50 (the whole _NAME_.EBOOT and _NAME_%.EBOOT thing). They only left the scene because the coder that founder it, CybBlade, died of cancer.

i'm going to have to go with Dark_AleX as well, like glenquag mentioned, he gave the idea of custom firmware and works alot individualy. he has just contributed so much from downdaters to downgraders to custom firmwares...etc. he is very talented and i was sad to see him leave. booster gave a good idea as well but i think custom firmware takes more skills (not saying that booster doesnt have them).
