Im running my psp in 3.40 oe-a.

Do you have to upgrade the firmware to play madden?

If it's above 3.4 firmware, yes. I think it is, haven't checked myself though. Upgrade to m33 if needs be.

Madden 08 requires 3.40FW
if it is a good dump it will work fine on both 3.40OE-A and 3.52 M33...if it has been butchered by someone it may not work :)

I upgraded to 3.51 m33 and i had to change one of the settings in the recovery menu.

I'm running 3.40 OE and Madden only works once and once only. Once I play it, after rebooting I get the error message 80020148 The game could not be started. I've noticed some of my other games that I was able to launch using Devhook won't work either. I've got to resort to using devhook 0.52 to run them. Other games work fine, I can see any rhyme or reason.

This is very strange behavior, does anyone have a clue?

When you say update, what do you mean? Update to what firmware? What was your firmware revision before you updated?
