Hi, I got into this PS2 game backup business recently and so far I've been able to backup most types of media: PS1 backups, PS2 CD(Blue) backups. For some odd reason I'm having trouble backing up DVD based PS2 games, or at least, having trouble booting them up. I have a Version 4 PS2 equipped with a Magic 2/3 modchip. I am well aware that the magic 2/3 modchip does not support DVD9 format PS2 backups, but I can't seem to boot the backups that I make out of most of my Original copies. And I say this because I haven't tried backing up all my games but I'm pretty sure that most of my games are not in DVD9 format. Although I can't boot my DVD backups, I am able to boot the backups a friend of mine made of some games. I would ask my old friend about this, but I moved and I lost all the ways I can get in contact with him. Here's what I use to make my backups:
I have followed most of all the tutorials on the web, including the one on these forums. I hope that was enough info for you folks to help me with my problem. Thanks in advance.
I would first retry burning them at 4x speed and stick with DVD Decrypter. You don't want to burn slower than that, so make sure your the media you buy is about 8x or better.
