I have gotten a new computer and installed dvd decrypter and dvd shrink, i have used both programs in my other computer with no problems. On this new computer I have received a few different errors, one being "exceeded parameters" and "invalid access to memory location" being the latest. I cannot seem to get this to work properly, I have reinstalled shrink, no help I am really getting discouraged. Can anyone help with this.

Which movies are giving you this problem? That error can mean Shrink can't handle the copy protection - it hasn't been updated in awhile.
Rip 1st w/ DVDFab HD Decrypter then open those files in Shrink. It's still updated to handle the newer stuff.

I have the same programs on my other computer and was able to decrypt and shrink and copy the movies with no problem. I tried an older movie that i have, Lord of the rings, i can decrypt it on my new computer but i get the same message with shrink "error cannot continue, failed to read (it names the vob file) invalid access to memory location. is it this computer or am i just crazy? Shrink can handle all of the movies on my old computer but none on my new one. Does this make sense?

Yep it makes sense - something is causing a conflict.
Give ripping w/ DVDFab a go - it's free.
Check these 2 things - in Shrink go to edit>preferences>file i/o tab and uncheck 'Enable burning with Nero'.
This other one is doubtful too since the pc is new but check and make sure you have DirectX 9.c at least.
Start>Run>type in dxdiag

Hmmm okay give this a go - go back to edit>preferences then click on the preview tab. Uncheck 'enable video & audio preview'.

Running Vista? Though Shrink still works w/ Vista from what I've seen.
Looking like you have a conflict somewhere - now it just trying to figure out where.
Check and see if there is a driver update for the video card in the pc.
The only I thing I can think of also is to make sure you running it as administer.

I was thinking you might be running Vista so not running as administrator might cause a problem.
But in XP go to control panel>user accounts. It should say administrator under your account.
Check for any updated on the video card driver.
Run this free registry cleaner - ccleaner. Use the issues and cleaner options.

Hi dizmal
Reauthor in Shrink is like when you just want to do movie only or add more than 1 movie to the dvd. The only downside is no menus.
Here's a guide that should help you out - link

I am getting back to all that tried to help me with my dvd shrink problem, I returned my computer to the place i purchased it, and it seems there was a conflict with the 2 burners i had installed, both being lg brand but different models. They just changed out the one burner and put in a dvd rom drive instead, so far i have not had a problem. Has anyone heard of this before?

Nope - hadn't heard of that - I would have never thought that 2 drives would have caused a conflict.
Glad to hear replacing one did the trick.
