I just checked my motherboard, and realized that my psp cannot be downgraded. Is there anything I can do? Can I buy a new mother drive? How much do they cost?

First, could you tell us your PSP's current firmware? There is a universal downgrader for firmwares 3.50 and/or below, and would work with any motherboard.

My firmware is 3.50. If what you said is true, great, but is it there a greater danger of bricking my psp?

That's good, then; your PSP is downgradable. =)
And yes, there will always be a risk when downgrading. However, the odds of bricking when downgrading is very low; a mere 2-5%, considering that you follow the instructions correctly.
For the downgrader, just google "3.50 downgrader." The downgrader, by the way, will require you to have an un-patched copy of the game Lumines.

Hey thanks! But, lumines? Does it have to be the umd, or can I download it?

Yes, it has to be the UMD. And I'm not sure if it has been patched, so make sure that you get the one WITHOUT the 3.51 update in it.

How can you check if there is the 3.51 update?

Well, the only way to check is to insert the UMD in your drive and see if it will let you play the game. If not, then it will ask you to update to 3.51 before you can play the game... And that, my friend, is a patched version. =P
But I'm sure they still sell un-patched versions on eBay or Amazon.com, some might be a little too pricey due to its high demand, though.

You will need 1 of the below Lumines to downgrade from 3.50
EU (ULES00043) or US (ULUS10002) version
You can find the UMD# on the spine of the game case. You can get these sometime at your local Walmart/BestBuy/Kmart/Target stores. Just check to see if they have them. Make sure you look at the spine of the case and check the UMD#.
@aransingh
Do as sicdude said. Update to 3.50 then use the Lumines Downgrader.
Here is a guide to mutiple downgraders. Just look at the -3.10 - 3.50 Any Motherboard section for the files and the guide on how to downgrade.
Both of you could use the Pandors Battery unbricker/downgrader method.
You will need to know someone that has a PSP with 1.50 or CFW on it. They will need to use their PSP to create the Pandora Battery (Jigkick).
For more information on this method go HERE.

For downgrading 3.50 to 1.50 you will need 1 of the below Lumines to
EU (ULES00043) or US (ULUS10002) version
another way of checking this is goto your PSP Game Menu and see if it has a PSP update ver. 1.50
(+[__]%) PSP Life - (TA-082)
2.81 > 3.03 > 3.50 > 1.50 > 3.40 OE-A > 1.50 > 3.40 OE-A

Either check the UMD# on the spine of the case.
If you looking at used Lumines/GTA you can also check the top of the UMD itself if the used game dosent come with a case.
It can't be any more simple then that.
