Cool pic Rotary, not used googles toolbar so i can't comment. I use the built in pop-up blocker in SLIMBROWSER made by flashpeak. Its a free download off their site www.flashpeak.com or downloads.com. It has a multi tabbed interface, IE look and feel or skinnable to your preference, built-in pop-up blocker, autologin for sites and loads more. Download size fits on a floppy, not that many would bother, you could e-mail it for the size of it and install is about 4meg. only a couple of bad points ive found, buts thats after 7mnths of use!! Give it a go, it uninstalls cleanly if you dont like it, but it is cool.
Later.

I use Ad-aware.

Myself using Windows 2000, I disabled the messanger service. (Control Panel, Administrative tools, Services.)

The one problem is it also disables messages from your anti virus software.

In Windows XP, there is a built in firewall that will prevent them from coming up:
Go to the Start menu and select Control Panel.
Click on Network and Internet Connections
Click on Network Connections
Right click on Local Area Connection and select Properties from the menu that appears.
In the Local Area Connection Properties window that appears, go to the Advanced tab and click in the checkbox in the Internet Connection Firewall section.

You can check to see how "invisible" you are to the internet by going here: https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

Hope that helps!

I'm running Mozilla 1.4 browser and it has an option to disable popups that don't originate from the site you are viewing. This allows you to click on a picture or a link and it will work, but unwanted popups are blocked. I've used some blockers that don't let anything past. You have to hit the shift key if you need to let something past which was a pain in the butt. Mozilla is 'set it and forget it'. It's the best solution I've found yet. I get NO unwanted popups. I get little to no spyware as well.

My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.

Indeed but more often than not, this causes more problems than it solves. :S

I do exactly what Nephilim does and just run use Mozilla for internet use. Mozilla has a lot of features that internet Explorer doesn't. The only time it doesn't work well is if you want to play some flash games on a gaming site. Its probably the best solution of come across and it's open source so it's free!

Well I use Mozilla Firebird (not just Mozilla) which includes the best pop-up stopper I've seen. Also supports browsing with tabs (very helpful), skins and extensions. Also Flash works fine, after you install it, there is no problem at all.

I think it's better from IE and Mozilla (it's more "heavy" as a prog)
Give it a try, it's freeware:
