Hi all its my 1st post here i had a look through the forum and couldnt find an answer so heres a q to pick your brains with.

yesterday i wiikey'd my wii and all is fine to some extent.

i put in my backed up copied game it reads it to the point it says say MARIO PARTY 8 in the preview pane / channel screen i click start to play it the screen then gos blank like its rebooted the wii though i know its not then seconds later says cannot read disk in a pure black and white screen and the wii remote powers off and i have to reboot with teh console buttons.

im using a new obviously working wiikey with verion 3.0e software (just updated after a 1st power on with the wiikey in.

cheers guys.

Scott.

Sounds like a media issue.

Try diffrent media.

Are the backup game disc the same region as your Wii?

If not what region is your Wii and what region is your Backups?

Hi mate thanks for the snappy reply. im using a pal wii with pal backups tried 3 different isos. my mario 8 works like i wrote above, my res evil 4 wont read at all aong with brain trainer doing nothing ether apart from an instant error ( no preview even) at the mo ive only got a tdk +rw and a sony -rw so maybe its the RW thing, im thing media and not chip seems it gets so far and its not like it aint reading at all plus it reads the wiikey disk fine. i think the best bets to buy some different none rw disks and try till it works. should rw be ok thouhg? ive tried pal games and 1 europe game.

thanks scott.

Wii systems can be picky at what media it will be best compatible with. Most tend to have better success with -R media +R and RW have been used by others but they tend to give the most problems.

So I would buy some -R media and try that.

I don't think it the media. No matter how bad the media is it can still boot it, but will lagged along in the game. Here's maybe your problem

nvm, didn't read the whole post. Best media is taiyo yuden or verbatim, but taiyo yuden is better.
