Hey everyone I'm new here but not to ripping. Dvd Shrink works for 95% of all the stuff I have tried to backup for over a year and the stuff that it doesn't DVD FAB HD Decrypter has worked. With this movie none of my programs work. So what is needed? I just want the movie nothing else. Thanks for any help!

you can try anydvd(free 15-day trial) to rip to hdd or use with shrink.
dvdFab HD should have worked...do you have the newest version, i believe it is 3.1.6.2
whats the error you get when using dvdFab?
make sure you have enough disk space
make sure the disk is clean? scratches?
it might just be a bad press? have you watched it?

Thank you for your help. I did need the update for DVDFAB. The problem still seems to be happening with this new version as well. It's not giving me any error but it literally just slows to where it is showing 15 hours for it complete the last part of it. I haven't tried AnyDVD was hoping this would fix it.
Now, just incase I'm slow the update you mentioned wasn't for DVD FAB HD Decryptor(BETA) it was for DVDFAB Platinum which it looked to be a purchase update. The update I downloaded was 3.1.6.5 so should I get the Platinum version you were speaking of?
Thanks again

Again thank you for your help. I just tried the other suggestion that 300bowler gave and actually tried playing it and the movie does stop and skip badly with no scratches on the DVD itself so that very well may be the problem is the DVD is just bad.
Thank you thebox for mentioning there was an update available for Ripit4me as that's usually my fall back when Shrink doesn't work and it typically never fails me. I'll go exchange it for another copy and see if that works then.

I did this movie (Region 2 Pal version of the movie) with DVDFab Decrypter 3.1.5.0. 'Movie only' mode was a breeze for me...
ps as per 300bowler, always look for DVDFab updates every few days, those DVDFab people release more updates than i don't know what

I had absolutely no problems using DVD Shrink and Hills Have Eyes 2.
P.S. I have never had any problems using DVD Shrink with any movie once I learned how to do it.

Sorry for the delay in responding but just been a busy week. I got my new copy of The Hills Have Eyes 2 and DVD Shrink took care of it with no hesitation. Thanks again for all your help and suggestions.

Glad you don't like Will Ferrell. I can think of 2 of his recent releases, Talladega Nights and Blades of Glory, that can't be done with Shrink alone. In fact, many of the newer releases with ARccOS will stop Shrink when used by itself.

Won't argue that. I just have had no problems with the movies I have tried, not every movie out there. I don't try to use DVD Shrink to copy the entire disk (where I have run into problems) but only the main title where it appears that even though I had problems with the full DVD copy I did not have any problems with the main title. All that I am interested in is the movie and not the other stuff.

When/if you encounter the problems with movie only (a lot of people have), try better decryption software. Shrink is obsolete when it comes to decryption and never was the best.

I have backed up both Talladega Nights and Blades of Glory with no problem , I may do it a little different then others but it works for me.First I use DVDFab Decrypter it stores it to my hard drive then I close that out then I open up DVDshrink locate it on my computer from there then I hit backup when thats done it automatically opens up DVD Decrypter and burns it to my disc. I've never ran across one that this wouldn't work on.

That works fine as long as DVDFab Decrypter is up to date. Occasionally a new protection comes along and it takes DVDIdle a bit to update the software. Same happens with Slysoft and the others.
