Three rings being caused by UPS/Surge Protectors

My xbox now and then turns off and gives the three rings of death but always works fine afterwards. Thing is My tv goes off at the same time. I tested this out to see if my xbox turns off all of a sudden(unplugging it) if the tv would turn off at the same time. It does not. I have the xbox and 42" Plasma plugged into the same UPS. I then found out that you are not supposed to have the power brick plugged into a surge protector/UPS because the brick has a built in surge protector. So I plugged the tv into the UPS and the 360 into the plug above where the UPS is plugged up. After a couple hours the same thing happened. I think my UPS is causing problems with the outlet. I installed a new UPS for the TV and kept the 360 plug directly into the wall. No problems yet. But this is why I am saying all this. I was really worried about the three rings but I don't think I have much to worry about. Anyone can cause the 360 to give the three rings of death by simply unplugging the 360 and pluging it right back in. Not long enough for the power supply to run out of juice though. This will give you the three rings. I think maybee allot of people are getting this error and thinking its the xbox dying but is really a problem with the power being fed to it. Then after this happening enough it really does do damage to the xbox and they beleive it was an imenent death caused by hardware problems. If this is an interest to anyone I will keep posted on my finding to see if its the comination of units using the same power source causing the problem. I am going to run my TV to a UPS by itself and have the 360 by itself on different outlets using different breakers and in a week if this has not happened again I will assume I am correct. I know this three rings of death topic has been beat to death on the forums but not much talk of maybee an outside culprit so I figured one more might help. Who all out there are running a power hungty 360 on the same power source as a HDTV? Yeah most of us I would think.
