I'm using max media manager and by datel and pspware to convert my videos to mpeg4 to play on my psp. However even on the highest settings the resolution that the videos are converted to doesn't equal that of the psp screen...so you can either watch them in their smaller boxed resolution (although quality is as good as UMD movies) or stretch them to fullscreen and lose some of the quality obviously.

Is there a way or another simple program that will convert the videos so that they'll equal the resolution of the psp screen so that the picture quality is perfect?

I don't know why these programs I'm using atm don't have an option to convert to a higher resolution. I know it'll take up for space on the memory stick but it'd be better still.

Use PSP Video 9, it is free and creates videos that have a resolution equal to that of a UMD. When properly setup the resolution can be higher than that of the UMD.

ic...I tried using psp video 9 but it seems confusing and isn't as straight forward as the ones I'm using atm so I didn't really do anything with it. There's all these random options and stuff I'm lost with it. I tried converting by just choosing the very bottom option for 'profile' and the conversion doesn't seem to get anywhere. It says it's converting but it doesn't look like it is.

can you tell me the steps on how to convert a video using it? I'm mainly converting DVD VOB files and want to keep them in their widescreen resolutions and want them to equal the psps screen size. thanks

To begin with go to the Settings area, and under Devices and Converter set the proper options for your PSP/video options. Now go to the Convert tab, and select your video files (.avi,.mpeg,etc) select the Title ID tab set the title, hit "Start Converting" and wait. Your converted videos should be in a folder called Converted Video in your My Documents folder.
