Onkyo receiver won't wake up using remote control...

I have an Onkyo TS-DX575 about 7 years old that is not waking up from standby using the remote. The unit works flawlessly using the front panel, but none of the functions respond to the remote. I am certain the remote is fine...it operates all of my other A/V.

In fact, I unplugged the receiver when cleaning today, and after about 10 minutes, I plugged the unit back in, and it worked with the remote! I thought I had it made, but after another 10 minutes, no response from the remote. I have tried to recreate the event, but to no avail...the unit is dead to the remote.

Has anyone had any experience with the receiver for the remote going bad? Or any other similar problems? Thanks in advance.
