Hi, I'm new to backing up PS2 games although my Xbox is fully modded and customized.
I recently installed and configured PCSX2 and I've mounted Monster Rancher 4 onto my pc using DaemonTools.
I followed the guide for PCSX2 and I think I have it all configured properly. But when I try to run Monster Rancher 4 from its .IMG I get the PS2 browser screen and it only reads the .IMG as an audio cd.
I've tried using AD's search function, as well as googling the problem, but so far I haven't found a solution. I'm probably not searching under the right terms since I'm new to this.
Would anyone be able to help me get the .IMG file read properly so I can play Monster Rancher 4? Thanks.
Well, I figured out the solution to my problem, and boy was it a newb thing. All I had to do was rename the .MDF file to .ISO!
Although I'm embarrassed at my newbness, I'm just glad that it was such an easy fix. =P
However, now when I run the game on PCSX2 from my .ISO file, the game skips and stutters like mad. I read the sticky thread about skipping and stuttering games, but damn it was pretty complicated...
And it seemed to focus mainly on the media type used, although I'm using an .ISO file on my HD, so I don't think that's a factor.
Anyone have a quick fix for the stuttering and skipping when running an .ISO from my HD on PCSX2? Maybe it's a simple thing like reconfiguring PCSX2?
I might as well re-activate this topic. I copied my games to my computer manually and need to know how to turn them into a .Iso image. I've been trying to find helpfull guides all night which is what made me decide eventually to join this site in hopes of gaining help. I also need to know the correct way to get PCSX2 to read DVD-Rom and CD-Rom discs from my DVD-Rom drive they always show up as audio discs when i use the .IMG files located in the sub directories on the disc itself.
