hey all, planning on getting a PSP slim later this year when theyre out. i know itll likely come preloaded with new firmware that might not've been cracked yet, but assuming it will be at some point to play PS1 games and such, ive a few questions:
1) got a buddy with Silent Hill, Suikoden 2, all the old FF's etc that id love to play, especially on my big screen via the system's TV out (cant play burned PS1 games on my ps2/3 as far as i know, natch) so what do i need to do, just rip images of these discs? what format/program's best? ive got nero, dvd decrypter, disc juggler, think that's about it, what's ideal?
2) i just need a memory stick to dump them onto to get them to play (again, once firmware's exploited) and that's it? if so, anyone recommend a size/place to get a good one?
thanks in advance for any help offered here.

Hi, Auto popstation4 is the program to use to rip the games, there are others aswell but that one is pretty simple. and as for a memory card probebly best to get the biggest you can find :)
If you cant beat em, nuke em.

I'm not so sure about that; now that Sony has news of the battery, they might make it incompatible with the Slim. This is all speculation and I'm not sure which way it'll go.

Yeah, i guess i should hold off till there's confirmation; im hoping to play PS1 ISO's, some of the SCUMM VM titles i saw in EGM (that'd be awesome) mebbe read comics, not much more, figure it cant take too long to get those cracked, right?
so, what's the final word? sitting here with original PS1 games, not sure if i should nero, alcohol, dvd decrpyter/disc juggler etc for them...there's gotta be a FAQ around for this.

Autopopstation4 seemed to change my games fine.
Put the disk in, run autopopstation and follow the instructions for ripping the image. Then when you've done that go back into it, and it should give you further instructions on what to do.

They are, but Sony might make some sort of blocking motherboard, or other piece of hardware. They WILL recall every single PSP Slim they already shipped if they have to. They DO NOT want you do have any fun with your PSP, that's Sony's mission.
