OUt of curiosity

What is the advantage of UMD video iso support now we have it?

I dont really get it :S

Please dont use computer language too much because i dont get it.. yeah?

UMD Video is a better quality compared with normal encoding on DVDrips.

so can you rip DVDs to UMD iso format?

Or do you have to download them?

No, DVD's are still ripped to MP4, the added support is for rips of actual UMD Videos, just like UMD Game rips.

well technically you could author/doctor a DVD rip into a UMD Rip using Sony's UMD Tools and UMD Gen, but it'd be a hassle and you might have to do some reverse engineering on a UMD Video to get some things right, but i think it'd be possible, just not worth it.

i'm not sure if it's big on the scene yet, but, you could rent and rip yourself....if u have a video store that rents UMD Video still, i believe Hollywood Video still does, and i know the grocery store by my house does :) but that doesn't help you there really, you could try searching some of the public hell torrent sites.

That's just it, there aren't many yet, because until this update there was no way of making them work, there was no point in people ripping them. Plus there aren't that many movies released for UMD anyway.
