How do I burn .000 Files

Very new to this folks, just downloaded xbox 360 game and unrar'd it. I now have a .000 file and a .dvd file, how do I burn this to disk? Do I have to do anything else with this?

Burn the .dvd file with CloneCD at 4x on Verbatim DVD+R DL discs. You can also use DVD Decrypter or IMGBurn, but you have to manually speficy the layer break as 1913760.

Thanks for that, do I have to do any of this patching stuff as I haven't got a clue. I have clone cd so I can use that no probs. What is this patching thing all about and do I need to do it?

Because this forum is going down the drains, and the mods aren't doing anything to enforce 'rules'. Just like PS2Menace (was it him?) I'm getting tired of seeing posts like:

people who don't even know how to unpack rar files, or burn a dvd is just ridiculous. those things aren't even 360 related.

I know what you mean but its hardly the end of the world is it? Its just a forum. Besides, i always see the mods editing and deleting posts.

sorry guys but i'm new to this.

I would just like to know why sometimes I get a .000 file and other times I get an ISO. I don't understand this patching business and if I have to do it or not.

Just asking for some details on modding as well, do you have to keep upgrading firmware if you get this Xtreme? What is the better way to mod Xtreme or permanent chip?
